a Filipino dish made with thinly sliced sirloin braised in a mixture of citrus, soy sauce, onions, and garlic.
Ingredients:
1 lb thinly sliced sirloin
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 large onions, sliced into rings
2 tablespoons cooking oil
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Marinate the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, calamansi juice, garlic, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the beef and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté the onions until they are soft and translucent.
Return the beef to the pan and add the remaining marinade.
Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef is tender.
Season with salt to taste.
